You can also contact your vet who may know who the cat breeders and kittens that ready for a new home.To inform the tips on choosing the right cat for you, I will try to explain it.
What should be checked before you bring home?
It's okay to use your heart when choosing a kitten, but you still need to make sure that the cat you choose should be in good physical condition and has no problems. So, check the droppings carefully, check for signs of overall general health. Make sure everything is there and correct, the correct number of toes, and tail and all that stuff. And check for obvious abnormalities. The really you should check is called "cleavage of palate". So open their mouths, and look at the roof of their mouth and make sure everything is intact. Cleavage of palate is where there is a small hole in the upper part of the mouth and it can cause health problems, so it should be sought.
Then check general signs of health. Such as worms, if a kitten is never being maintained, perhaps he had never given de-worming, and can cause various health problems. The signs of intestinal worms are abdominal bloating, bad hair and signs of diarrhea around the buttocks, so that's one thing to be realized. Also have a look about fleas. Check for tiny black dots in the fur. It's the classic signs that the cat has fleas.
In general they have a nice shiny coat. Full of energy and noisy - full of meowing. That's a good sign of a healthy cat.
